I recently traded one of my guitars – a Fender Roadworn 50’s Telecaster for this vintage white (looks more like shell pink) 2008 Fender Japan 62 Vintage Reissue Stratocaster. This was part of their DiMarzio Collection where in they installed DiMarzio Vintage pickups in it. I didn’t like the way the DiMarzio sounded so I replaced the pickups with Fender CS Fat 50’s pickup. The change in the guitar sound was day and night! I love the spank and single coil sparkle of the Fat 50s! I always love the 62 Fenders, be it a Stratocaster or my fave the Telecaster. There is something about the wide C shaped oval maple neck with rosewood fingerboard that seemed to fit my hands just right.
I also dressed up my new guitar with a Catfish Guitar Strap’s the ORIGIN. I was told by the owner of Catfish that I am the owner of the very 1st retail version of this strap here. Catfish is a Philippine guitar strap maker which makes wonderful and right priced straps for guitars. I love this new vintage design with leather and brass fitting along with a softer nylon backing on the strap itself.
Here are some photos of the whole kit ( my guitar, my son’s MIJ Fender 62 reissue and the Origin). All taken with the Sony A7lll + Sony 50mm f/1.4 ZA and Sony 24-70mm f/2.8GM
Sweet color combination… enjoy
